LandWatch Office Opens!

It's official, Central Oregon LandWatch has opened its first ever office! Located alongside McKay Park at the Colorado Street crossing, it's a cozy little place and gets us out of the house(s) a bit more often.

For those who need to know, we're at 147 SW Shevlin Hixon Drive #206 in Bend, OR 97702.

For the first time, we also have an office phone (and fax number) that doesn't double as a personal line. If you'd like to reach us in the office by phone, we're at (541) 647-1567 and you can send faxes to us at (541) 647-1568.

Although the place isn't big enough to host an Open House, all our friends and supporters can feel fee to stop and and to say hello and check the place out. -Erik

Good to have you

I'm so glad you're there now! I grew up in Bend, was among the first sophomore class at Mountain View High School (now 30+ year-old high school), and return OFTEN to visit family! I plan on moving back someday soon, and meanwhile like to stay up on what's happening in Bend. One question I have now: I noticed a chunk of land, 118 acres, for sale at Neff and Erickson Roads East of Bend. It's zoned "proposed UAR", currently EFU/Farm. What is UAR? I'm guessing urban development - but what is encompassed in that? Do we know yet how far Bend's city boundary will flow East? I grew up on a farm near the airport, and so it interests me to know what will happen ultimately in that area. Many folks I know out there are, and have been for years, nervous about the city boundary extending toward the airport. Any latest word on this? I am aware the city will probably annex the airport, however, I don't believe that necessarily includes all the land between Bend's current Eastern boundary and the airport - am I wrong? Thank you, Cathie DL
