FERC – Preliminary Permit Application for Diversion Dam Project on the Deschutes River (noticed 10/07/09)

Description: Sierra Energy Company filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a preliminary permit to study the feasibility of the North Unit Diversion Dam Project, located on the Deschutes River in Deschutes County. The Proposed project would have a diversion structure, penstock, powerhouse and transmission line with average annual generation of 7.2 gigawatt-hours.

State of Oregon – DEQ Categorical Exclusion for Three Sisters Irrigation Project (noticed 8/27/09)

Description: The Three Sisters Irrigation District has applied for a Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan to convert an open, unlined irrigation ditch in the TSID Main Canal with two high-density polyethylene buried pipelines, to conserve water within the Whychus Creek and the Deschutes River upstream from Lake Billy Chinook. DEQ accepts the Bureau of Reclamation categorical exclusion.
