We are pleased to announce that Meyer Memorial Trust has approved LandWatch's grant application to expand our Quality Bend program led by Moey Newbold. LandWatch will receive $30,000 each year over the next two years to support our work to to improve Bend’s quality of life.
Meyer Memorial Trust was created by the late Fred G. Meyer, founder of a chain of retail stores bearing his name throughout the Pacific Northwest. Established in 1982, Meyer has awarded roughly $700 million in grants and program-related investments to more than 3,200 organizations in Oregon and Southwest Washington. This grant will be made from the Healthy Environment portfolio, which makes investments that are grounded in the belief that a flourishing Oregon depends on healthy ecosystems and clean water and air for all.
LandWatch will use this grant to build upon our success advocating for a limited Urban Growth Boundary expansion to prevent urban sprawl, encourage cost-effective, vibrant growth, protect wildlife habitat, and foster affordable housing.
