Join The Environmental Center for a fun and festive celebration of the natural world! Our day of festivities kicks off with a colorful, creative parade filled with children and adults costumed as their favorite plant or animal. You’ll get to meet our three Earth Guardian puppets, each of which celebrates nature in its own beautiful way. And with tunes from B Side Brass Band to lead the way, you’re sure to feel the energy at one of Bend’s best parades!
11:00 am: Assemble on Louisiana Avenue next to McMenamin’s
11:30 am: Parade starts (about 8 blocks through downtown Bend)
No motorized vehicles or written words allowed in the parade. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are allowed.
The fair takes place on Kansas Avenue in front of The Environmental Center (downtown Bend) from 12pm – 3pm.
Food Carts & Live Music
There will be live music from Broken Down Guitars and a street fair featuring local businesses, nonprofits, and a variety of food carts.
For the Kids
Head over to Troy Field for the Kid’s Zone to enjoy interactive activities and games for all ages – including face painting, obstacle courses, and a fire truck. The Kansas Ave. Learning Garden will host story time near the Little Free Library beginning at noon, with stories read aloud every half hour. Plus, we’ll be making DIY ‘seed bombs’! Be sure to meet the Earth Guardians, either near The Environmental Center’s booth or on Troy Field.
Electric Vehicle Ride & Drive
The Energy Challenge is organizing an Electric Vehicle Ride & Drive in the parking lot next to Troy Field, where you can take an electric vehicle for a spin and talk to local EV owners. The second electric vehicle group-buy program will launch at this event. We have Smolich Nissan on board to offer a deep discount on the 2018 Nissan LEAF – now with a 150 mile range.
