On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, Oregon state legislators will consider HB 4113 - a bill that seeks to allow development across 250 acres of rural land outside urban growth boundaries somewhere in the state, based on an expired development opportunity that was tied to the battle fought and won years ago to permanently protect the Metolius. Chair Marsh, Vice-Chairs Breese Iverson and Andersen, and Committee members:
I am writing today to ask you to oppose HB 4113.
As an Oregonian, I value the land use principles that help keep our state healthy environmentally and economically. Upholding our land use system is key to both.
This bill would benefit one private stakeholder at the expense of our land use system. With so many other important priorities in front of you, I hope you will quickly reject HB 4113.
Sincerely,
