ADVOCACY IN SALEM

For 37 years, Central Oregon LandWatch has been working to create well-planned cities and protect wild, open spaces across the region.

Leveraging our legal expertise, policy analysis, and experience with Oregon’s land-use planning system, we work to guide development in cities and towns and protect the land and water that sustains our communities and ecosystems.

During the 2023 legislative session, LandWatch will be looking towards Salem, reviewing bills, presenting policy recommendations, and advocating for issues that affect us all across Central Oregon.

GET INVOLVED

Interested in legislative advocacy for conservation, climate, and sustainable growth here in Central Oregon?

There are many ways to join with us during the legislative sessions through attending committee hearings, offering testimony, and otherwise engaging in proceedings on issues and bills of interest to you. As we see bills come to the floor, we are constantly reviewing legislation to find and support the best policies for our community.

We go behind-the-scenes to track bills. When a bill gets sent to a committee, there is a quick turnaround time on the need for public input. We'll send out an action alert email with information – the name and summary of the bill, the time of a committee meeting if you want to provide spoken testimony, and contact information for submitting written testimony.
