We made it! 175 supporters and a Challenge Match met!

At LandWatch, we strive to show up for Central Oregon every day. From protecting sensitive fish and elk habitat from logging in the Ochocos to pushing for more climate-conscious housing within cities and towns, we know there is a wide scope of work to do in the fight for Central Oregon’s livable future.

We are prepared for the challenge. And we know we’ve got a community of supporters ready to meet us there.

This weekend, we surpassed our Challenge Match goal of $50,000! Your donations over the last two months will be doubled by a generous donor.

Let’s look at how we got here.

Some notable numbers

  • 114 donors gave to LandWatch for the first time. Let’s give them a big welcome! Thank you for your support!

  • 18 donors reinitiated their support of LandWatch, including 2 who rejoined after over twelve years.

  • 28 current members generously increased their support from last year.

  • $100.40 was our median donation amount. The range of donations shows the remarkably broad support we received during this campaign.

Why do you choose to support LandWatch?

Our members shared a few of their reasons.

I support organizations that protect beautiful spaces from overdevelopment, urban sprawl and resource/access inequalities. Thank you for your work!

Knowing I could help a fellow climate activist in our fight for a livable future. Not only that, but (thanks to a generous donor) the fact that I could double my impact through a matching gift. I can’t give a lot, but the matching program makes me feel like I’m really making a difference.

Central Oregon Landwatch is the best there is for monitoring and holding the line for protecting our farm and forest lands. Since the passage of the Oregon Land Use Law in 1973 there has been consistent attempts to challenge and push the boundaries for protecting this valuable landscape of Oregon. Landwatch is the organization that keeps “watch” to make certain we stick with the law which is designed to support the need to develop the lands within the county and city comprehensive land use plans. I am proud to support this work.
