Announcing: A New Challenge

In 2023, Central Oregon LandWatch reached important milestones, made tremendous progress on our long-term goals, and involved many community members in ensuring Central Oregon’s livability.

As we plan out what we hope to achieve in 2024, it’s time to raise the funds we’ll need to get the work done. We’re aiming to raise $45,000 to set the coming year off on solid footing and to provide the essential support for our land-use advocacy and policy watchdog work. And we have some exciting news: three generous entities will be providing matching funds so that gifts from our community have twice the impact!

With this Winter Challenge Match underway, here are the details and logistics and answers to questions you might have.

What is the deadline for giftS?

Our Winter Challenge Match will run through the winter solstice on December 21, 2023.

Who is providing the match?

Three generous entities are stepping up to provide matching funds – MiiR, Foghorn Labs, and Riverbend Giving.

How do I contribute?

You can mail your check to us at 2843 Northwest Lolo Drive, Suite 200, Bend, OR, 97703 or you can give online. However your gift arrives, it will be matched!

If I sign up as a sustaining donor to make recurring, monthly gifts, wOULD it be matched?

Yes! Your full year of giving will get it matched. So if you sign up to give $10 per month, you’ll unlock $120 in matching funds. Becoming a sustaining donor is a great way to make an impact.

• Can I make a gift through a donor advised fund and have it matched?

  Yes! You can notify us that you have directed a gift to Central Oregon LandWatch and we will put it up toward this match. Our matching donors will match anything up to our $45,000 goal.

• Your goal is $45,000. Would a gift of $25 help?

  Yes! Central Oregon LandWatch is fortunate to have many generous donors and a strong base of community support. We appreciate that what defines a meaningful gift is different for every household. Whether $25 or $2,500, your financial support is appreciated and will be put to good use.

• Can I make a gift of stock? Would that be matched?

  Yes! Email Lorraine Murray, lorraine@colw.org, to notify us of your stock gift and the value will be added toward our goal.

• If I contribute through Central Oregon Gives, will it be matched?

  Yes! You sure can. Go to our profile, make a gift and you just might win one of their fun weekly perks!

• I *just* made a gift to LandWatch! Will it count toward a match?

  Thank you! And, yes! If you made your gift on or after November 1, 2023, our matching donors will be matching it.

• What if my employer matches my gift? Could their match be matched?

  Whoa! Triple match action! Sure, let’s say yes! If you work for an employer that matches the charitable gifts its employees make, let us know and we will apply that employer to our goal. With all the hard work that lies ahead, we’ll take every match we can get!
