Field Series: Walk to Wizard Falls on the Metolius

Walk along the banks of the Metolius River and chat with our Rural Lands team about why this area is so key to LandWatch’s history. We will circle up at Wizard Falls for a break and chat about our work and issues similar to those we faced on the Metolius that we are tackling now. We will also be on the lookout for wildflowers, otters, songbirds, raptors, and native fish!

Details

  • Start: Canyon Creek Campground at 9:00 AM.

  • End: Choose to end at 10:30 AM at Wizard Falls and catch a shuttle back to Canyon Creek Campground, or walk back along the river for twice the beauty.

  • Trail: The walk to Wizard Falls takes roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour. There is no significant elevation change but the trail is uneven in spots.
